Let’s summarize a little bit: Yuna was kidnapped by the al-bhed because they want to save her life (!). She was brought to the al-bhed secret base called “Home” on Bikanel Island, but there she was one again kidnapped by the guados because she has to marry Lord Seymour to save Spira. So, we are talking about TWO kidnappings in one chapter. Even Princess Peach can’t beat this record! So Cid and Brother start the old machina “Airship” up, and leave Home in search of the lost young summoner. They eventually discover that Yuna has been brought to the beautiful city of Bevelle, home of the Yevon cult, and head that way. But Bevelle is protected by a huge Boss: Evrae, the purple dragon with the kabuki-face. Will our heroes be able to defeat the powerful flying Boss? The answer lies in the next chapter. These screenshots were taken via Pcsx2 emulation (Ps2 textures rendering x4, Hardware AAx3, 1080 vertical px) in 4:3 ratio (as the original game), but there are a few shots (mainly in-battle pics) I decided to cut in 16:9 ratio for a more cinematic effect (variable sizes).

Man these screenshots are just beautiful. I really love the poses you captured Evrae in – it really shows off how slender yet powerful he looks. The couple of wedding photographs you took too really highlighted some things to me – like the knocked over bouquet on Yuna’s side – probably symbolic of her lack of affection for Seymour. I would never have noticed these kind of things if it wasn’t for these splendid works of art.
Keep it up! I’m really excited for what comes next
Thanks for your commentary. It’s flattering. I promise to you that this quality will be extended to the whole FFX collection. I did not notice that “knocked-over bouquet” thing. And you might be right. Tidus and friends were not yet arrived in Bevelle so there wasn’t any fight going-on in that moment… Unless, the “wedding scenario” was one and only, and Squaresoft programmers used a post-fight scenery also in a pre-fight cutscene thinking noone would notice that detail.
In other words: it could be only a matter of lazyness
Evrae is one of my favorite boss battles in FFX, he’s a real tricky one if you aren’t careful though. Thanks again, Emalord!
Ciao Tori. I have to admit that my playthrough was not THAT hard. I played since the beginning with Yuna at max power, immediate access to all the AEONS, and many other cheats. Even in the cloister of trials I had no difficulty because I could jump from one chapter to the other effortless. I tried to be faithful to the storyline, but with some help
Evrae, you’re right, it’s beautiful. The Kabuki-like face is genius!
I wish my PC was powerful enough to run the game as you do. Sadly, I play the PAL version, and it looks awful.
But these picture are really something. The game hasn’t aged that much, after all!
Thank you for this amazing website!
Thanks Arkann. My PC is two years old, so it’s not super-powerful but apparently it’s enough to run FFX properly. I play the PAL version of PS2 too, thanks to emulation, the graphics are improved by my pc. But we play the same game! And I agree with you, it aged very very good.
